Show Her That You Care

Sunday is coming. Why should you care? You probably don’t remember the day but rest assured your mom remembers every detail of when she brought you into the world. Sunday marks the annual homage to our mothers—that one person we’ve all relied on through the years. Rather than last minute shopping, consider some of these ideas to show that you care.

Pamper her with breakfast in bed. Let her wake up to her favorite morning fare served bedside. Add some flowers, a small hand-made gift from the kids for an extra special touch.

If geography separates you and you don’t see mom as much as you’d like, surprise her with a visit. Make sure to check with your dad or someone else close to your mother to make sure she will be in town. Your mother will appreciate seeing you more than any gift—and more importantly, the grandkids.

Have a Mother’s Day brunch with some friends and your mothers. Bringing friends and family together can make for a special day.

If you can’t think of a gift for the mom that has everything, consider giving a contribution to her favorite charity in her honor.

Whatever you do, do something. Remember the more you personalize the gift, the more special you’ll make her day.
