Pink. It’s the New Color For Fall.

It’s October now and signs of fall abound. While the leaves are turning their brilliant yellows, reds and oranges, there’s another color on full display. It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which means pink is in. Breast cancer affects nearly one in eight women, putting it at the number one cancer among women. With those numbers, most of us know someone affected by breast cancer. Here are some ways to support the cause.

Go on a walk.
Throughout the month you can expect a breast cancer awareness walk in the community. They’re a great way to bring people together who are affected by breast cancer and help raise money to find a cure. If you know someone affected by breast cancer—or even if you don’t—you can show your support and enjoy the beautiful fall weather before the snow hits the ground.

Watch football.
Throughout the month of October, some pretty manly-men will be sporting pink to support breast caner awareness. The National Football League has players wearing pink shoes, gloves, sweat bands and pink ribbons on their helmets. Coaches and referees wear pink hats. But more importantly, you can purchase specially branded NFL merchandise with proceeds going to charities that support breast cancer awareness, while you also support your favorite team.
